Background

Before Nonna Picks, Nomi spent 18 years shipping enterprise software for some of the most demanding operators in finance: Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, the $25B private-equity fund Dragoneer, and SEI Wealth. He was employee #9 in North America at eFront, the alternative-investment software company later acquired by BlackRock for $1.3B. The common thread was the same: systems that had to be correct, safe, and trusted by people with a lot to lose.

Why a dating app

The dating category is enormous and, for most people, exhausting. The business model of the biggest apps rewards time spent, not relationships formed. Nomi started Nonna Picks on a different premise: match people on real compatibility first — a 99-question model across values, lifestyle and personality — then get them into the same room at real events where a conversation can happen naturally.
